The MetaScarf Story
It Was Yesterday a Decade Ago
This has been far too many years in the making for what is the end result. However I had to deal with addiction and facing all the things I had escaped or attempted to escape in my earlier years now that I'm older I can't handle it physically the drinking especially.
The Meta scarf was a result of having breast cancer and going through menopause and needing convertible clothing because I would peel stuff off put it on get hot, cold, hot, cold. Dealing with cancer or the adjunct therapies also causes extreme fluctuations in temperature. You may lose your hair. Everywhere. These scarves are providing a second life..upcycled that didn't go into a landfill. Each scarf is lovingly washed, ironed, hand stitched where needed creating a beautiful unique gold, Wabi-Sabi thread on your scarf. These are not flawed, they are beautiful. Each one unique, like you. They are upcycled, and sterilized. This scarf has traveled far for you to use and enjoy and feel beautiful in. Be wrapped in love. We all have gone through strife. Consider this a protective layer, Loving you, appreciating your authenticity giving you a second chance. These scarves are meant to help heal the scars. There is great intention within each of these scarves.
The Scarf
Traveled long and far to be with you. It it served another life before. It was loved or discarded and unloved. It was rescued from landfill and filled with love, upcycled and given another life. It has been touched by hands many times so that you can receive the love and care that you may be missing in your life. The broken parts in this scarf were lovingly repaired with beautiful thread. Each scarf is special for the unique you that receives it. Along the path from it's own rescue, it has been washed, ironed, stitched, sterilized and waited to be a part of someone else's life who needs it. Through many iterations, the scarf that you see, was many years in production. The snaps were attached by a set of hands using a machine. These were not touched robotically in any way. The scarves were sterilized to make sure that you were receiving something as clean and bacteria free as possible. May you love the scarf as much as the love that made its way to you. May it help you in times of trouble, may it be your companion in times of travel.
The reason these scarves came to be was because of an understanding of what was missing in parts of my life. I chose the wabi-sabi viewpoint, using beautiful thread to sew up places where there might have been holes, snags, and that this scarf has been loved, showing the beauty in what others may consider broken.
